Greetings! I’m April

I want you to know that stepping into therapy takes real courage – something I deeply honor about anyone who finds their way to my practice.

As a fellow highly sensitive person, I understand what it feels like to navigate a world that was not built for you and can oftentimes feel overwhelming. My journey led me to become a Witch Therapist with a Somatic Counseling: Body Psychotherapy degree from Naropa University, but more importantly, it taught me that healing happens when we feel truly seen and understood.

My Approach

I believe your body holds incredible wisdom – it’s been with you through every experience, storing both your struggles and your strength. Together, we’ll explore what your body is telling you through movement, patterns, sensations, and the stories it carries. I use techniques such as focusing, tapping, mindfulness, witch-wound, and inner-child work. Most importantly, I follow your lead and what feels right for you. I use a trauma-informed approach that respects your body’s natural rhythms and allows space for integration and appropriate pacing that doesn’t overload your nervous system.

Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, navigating a major life change, healing from trauma, dealing with relational challenges, or simply feeling stuck, I’m here to walk alongside you. I specialize in working with Highly Sensitive People (HSPs) – especially those recovering from people-pleasing patterns, perfectionism, and the exhaustion that comes from caring so deeply about everything and everyone.

Who I Work Best With

You might be a good fit for my practice if you:

  • Feel things deeply and sometimes get overwhelmed by the world around you
  • Struggle with boundaries and saying no
  • Are tired of putting everyone else’s needs first
  • Want to understand why you react the way you do in relationships
  • Are curious about connecting with your body’s wisdom
  • Are ready to do the work, even when it gets uncomfortable
  • Have a strong intuition, but question it, and find it difficult to trust yourself
  • Motivated and curious about yourself and others
  • Practice self-responsibility, and are committed to healing and personal growth

Beyond Therapy Work

My nearly 20 years of professional experience have shown me that healing isn’t about perfection – it’s about learning, growing, and being surrounded by people who see and care for you deeply. My work focuses on helping you remember your innate worth outside of your circumstances and develop compassion for yourself in moments of challenge. Being in a human body on a spiritual path means there will always be more growth opportunities as long as we’re willing to meet the moment, imperfections and all.

My other pursuits have included teaching elementary school, life coaching, facilitating mindfulness groups, house cleaning and providing relational care for humans of all ages. I’m passionate about social justice, inclusivity, equity, and creating spaces where everyone can thrive authentically.

When I’m not in session, you’ll find me with loved ones, singing, dancing in my kitchen, getting lost in a good audiobook, hiking local trails, writing, or curled up watching a compelling series. I believe in practicing what I teach – which means I prioritize rest, play, healthy boundaries, and staying connected to what brings me joy.

A Personal note

Therapy isn’t always comfortable, and that’s okay. Growth rarely happens in our comfort zones. What I can promise you is a space free of judgment, full of genuine care, and grounded in the belief that you already have everything you need within you – sometimes you just need support uncovering it. I am first and foremost an imperfect human who endeavors to continue being a humble learner. I hold space for hard conversations and repair with clients when needed.

If you’re feeling drawn to work together, I’d love to hear from you. Your healing journey matters, and you deserve support that honors all parts of who you are.

Cultural Resume

I was afforded a great deal of privilege from my middle-class family and white, European ancestry, along with being able-bodied, well-educated, cisgender, heterosexual passing, thin-bodied, and gender-conforming. Other identities I hold include: witch, queer, woman, highly sensitive person, singer, dancer, mover, and poet.

The negative belief systems surrounding my upbringing include fatphobia, sexism, racism, homophobia, white supremacy, hustle culture, capitalism, activity-based worthiness, and emotional suppression. I am passionately committed to dismantling oppressive systems, which includes examining and challenging the internalized biases that I have inherited from the culture I was conditioned and raised in.

I am neurodivergent, which shows up primarily around depth of processing and overstimulation as a Highly Sensitive Person. I have struggled with mental health issues since I was a child, including Depression, ADHD, and Generalized Anxiety, in cultures and systems not equipped to support me. I have lived with Endometriosis, a chronic health condition, for over 15 years.
