FAQ

My rate is $150 for a 50-minute session.

I also offer a sliding scale of $80–$150 to make therapy more accessible. If you need a reduced rate, we can discuss what’s sustainable for you. There’s no income verification—just a conversation about what’s possible while honoring the value of this work. Sliding-scale spaces are limited so that I can continue offering this depth of work to my community in a sustainable way.

Yes, I offer telehealth sessions to anyone residing in the state of Colorado.

Yes, I offer in-person sessions in Boulder, CO, by request. Nature therapy sessions are also available by request, weather permitting. Unfortunately, I cannot work with anyone who resides outside of Colorado due to licensing requirements. All consultations are done virtually.

I do not work with families. I have limited spots for couples who are looking for short-term therapy to learn communication tools, nervous system regulation, and somatic practices to improve relational dynamics. I only work with couples who are deeply committed to their personal growth and who have already had individual therapy or coaching to work on their own inner wounds. I do not work with couples who are contemplating uncoupling. Rates for couples are $220 per session.

Therapy is a deeply personal journey. I endeavor to hold a safe container for you to bring all of yourself. Rapport building is a huge part of the initial stages of therapy. I only work with clients who are deeply committed and motivated to grow by taking full responsibility for their healing journey. Working with me, you can expect to explore the ways that family, cultural, and institutional factors influence the way you orient and relate to others as humans. While you will process your thoughts and feelings in our sessions, I will also guide you through somatic and energetic practices to support nervous system regulation. With me, you can expect to be uncomfortable; growth requires us to move and shift outside of our comfort zones. I use trauma-informed care to support you in a slow and manageable way so you can expand your tolerance for discomfort and therefore growth. This helps you have more capacity to create new patterns in your life.

I can provide you with a super bill electronically to assist with your out-of-network insurance claims. Please note that while I make every effort to send this documentation promptly, I cannot guarantee reimbursement from your insurance provider. It’s always best to check with your insurance company to understand their specific reimbursement policies for out-of-network services.

If you have a card for your Health Savings Account (HSA), I can process payments directly from your HSA for your sessions. Please note, for billing purposes, a secondary form of payment is required on file in case additional verification or charges are needed. This helps ensure a smooth and seamless transaction process.

Insurance companies often have extensive requirements that can take time and focus away from providing quality care to my clients. To fully devote my attention and resources to your healing process, I have chosen not to work directly with insurance. This approach allows for more personalized and flexible support tailored to your unique needs.

Additionally, insurance policies often require diagnoses that may not accurately reflect or serve your individual journey. While diagnosis can sometimes be helpful for mental health support, I believe in empowering my clients to receive diagnoses if they find it beneficial for their healing—without the added pressure of insurance documentation.

Above all, I am committed to advocating for your right to privacy. Working independently allows me to prioritize your confidentiality and support your well-being on your terms.

24-Hour Notice Required

To honor both your time and mine, cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full session rate.

Emergency Exceptions

I understand that true medical and physical emergencies can occur unexpectedly. In such cases, we will review the circumstances together and work toward a fair resolution. Communication is important in these situations.

What Does Not Qualify as an Emergency

Minor illnesses (such as a cold or headache), childcare arrangements, work conflicts, or other personal commitments do not qualify for emergency exceptions. Additionally, for in-person sessions, minor illnesses should be communicated and can be accommodated by switching to a virtual session at no additional charge.

Communication is Key

Clear and timely communication helps us work together effectively. If you have questions about what constitutes an emergency situation, I’m happy to discuss this during our initial consultation to ensure mutual understanding. In some late cancellation instances, if schedule rearranging works for both parties, it may be possible to reschedule within the same week. However, this accommodation is not guaranteed and depends on the therapist’s availability.
